Our Georgina Avenue location is situated within St. Ann school at 1130 Georgina Avenue. We have a separate entrance around the back of the school, across the playground from the parking lot.
We are licensed for 54 children: 15 toddlers, 24 preschool-aged children, and 15 school-aged children. Our school age program shares a program space with the Native Language class from 3:20 PM to 5:30 PM.
The Site Supervisor of our Georgina Avenue location is Amanda Brizard, who is a Registered Early Childhood Educator who has been with Mahmowenchike Family Development Centre since 2014.
Our Assistant Food Preparer, Albina, is located at our St. Ann location and assists with serving and tidying up lunch, as well as prepares morning and afternoon snack for the St. Ann location.
We currently employ 5 regular educators at our St. Ann location. We strive to hire qualified, knowledgeable educators with an educational background and experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. A knowledge of child development, an awareness of the Indigenous traditions, culture, and language is essential. Everyone at our centre works together as a team to provide a positive, responsive environment geared towards children and families.
